Berlin has many semi-studio flats with tiny kitchens and no designated sleeping area, this forces the residents of such small apartments to spend their nights, as well as days, in what is essentially their bedroom.
Sleep, work, study, host, all of those activities take place in a space which for most people should be quiet, private and cozy.
By moving the kitchen into the main room Ebbe Studio has accomplished reclaiming the bedroom as a bedroom and opened up the kitchen to include a dining area sufficient for the inhabitant of the flat, their partner and their cat comfortably. Sometimes even with guests.
